I messed up the last blog which you may have noticed finished quickly…………not sure what happened, must have been the computer, couldn’t have been the operator! In any case they all returned and I’m sure their bonding had nothing to do with the wine tasting which they all seemed to really enjoyed. We had a great evening and a great meal hosted by Bissy and Michael and all fourteen of us sat around the table chatting, laughing, catching up and in some cases getting to know each other as we don’t get to see the cousins from the west too much. Geraldine and Wilf are in Arizona but their three children, Amber, Taylor and Bree(and two of their three partners), Ian and Keith(Bissy and Michael’s two boys), Andrea, Kathleen(and Adam) got along like a ‘house on fire’ and Jim, Bissy, Michael and myself just say back and totally enjoyed the evening and were so grateful that the younger generation enjoyed each other’s company so much……….just as we have over the years! The following day Bissy, Andrea and I used one of our Christmas gifts from Kathleen, with Kathleen, and went to an Italian cooking course at the Cookbook company where we cooked soup, foccacia, homemade pasta, chicken and dessert and then enjoyed it with a glass of wine. Meanwhile, Michael treated Jim to an NHL hockey game between Calgary and Phoenix and the good news was Calgary one so everyone was happy………even us girls who didn’t really care! Later in the week B & M hosted another dinner with some old friends(not that old, really) from our Calgary days ie. Shirley and Neil, Dianne and Vic, and once again most of the younger folk joined us but left early to party elsewhere while we sat around catching up on family, friends, trips taken and yet to be taken and totally enjoyed the evening. Thanks to Bissy and Mike for being such super hosts, as they always are when we come to town. Funny being with old friends and catching up…………………where have the years gone as things don’t seem that different until I look in the mirror and see that head of grey hair………….life’s good, no complaints!
